First of all… Fuck this band… Seriously… If you are going to release one track PLEASE make it a terrible track.  But no.. The dudes in Neev decided to put out a rad track, wait… even more rad than rad.  The dudes in Neev decided to put out a gnarly track.  When I started it up I am stoked, then one minute and fifth-teen seconds later it is over and I am am like “fuck, the fun is over, I want more, I want it all.”  But there is nothing more, just one track

Never have I posted a bad review on this blog, seriously read all the reviews, the point of this blog is to post rad music but I want to put it out there.  DO NOT listen to this band.  It will ruin your day that they don’t have anymore songs to jam to.

Yes please.  This band decided to send me an e-mail and I’m so glad that they did.  When I heard the first track I was so oddly interested in hearing the next.  I know when I feel this I am going to love something and this is simply what happened with this band.  Dormancy does all the time what most bands lately have been doing just for one track off a record and that is spoken word over rad music.  This is really tough because the lyrics have to be spot on because everyone can hear them perfectly and holy shit does Dormancy have some good lyrics.  I’m seriously jealous, and if you are in a band right now you should be jealous too.  Give this record a chance and than thank me when you do.

The big jams are On Or Close which ending lyrics kind of remind me of the Litany Against Fear (anyone?)  Then Bloodlines has background vocals that are brutal so listen and cry.

Come on and bring the gnar, is the real title of this release because holy shit it will melt your face off.  This is the time and place that I needed a band like this.  Everyone is talking about it so, I’m sure people have better words and more articulate sentences but forget that, just listen to this and rage.  Lush is the jam

This band is what I wanted 1994! to sound like.  It is poppy, dirty, noodly, full of places to sing along too.  Listening to this record is the perfect way to start out your fall.  I would include a total rad track but this record is full of jammers.  Listen now.

Oh man!  I am moving to Ohio in about two weeks so why not review some rad Ohio Bands?

Maumelle is a band from southern Columbus Ohio and play a mixture of noodlely emo and 90′s pop punk emo.  I’m sure that if you are reading this blog that you are interested in that description.  Most of the vocal’s are Gainesville abrasive.  Maybe this is one of the best records in a while.  I don’t know, you be the judge and listen to it right now!

Label – (Self-Released)
Style – Screamo
From – Oakland, California, United States

Where was I when this came out?  Where have I been?  What’s going on now?

Shit, No Tongue is refreshing to me right now.  Four tracks of solid screamo with influences from all around.  I wish this wasn’t just a couple of mp3s but a seven inch or something.  Definitely worth keeping around.

Shizune – Mono No Aware: Between Eternity and the Burial

Band – Shizune (Bandcamp) (Facebook)
Release Title – Mono No Aware: Between Eternity and the Burial
Medium – mp3
Label – Self Released
Style – Post Hardcore/Screamo
From - Vicenza, Italy

Info -

Shizune are a five piece from Italy that play some very powerful and tight Sreamo.  There are multiple duel vocal bits that go on and these five melodic and chaotic songs span three different languages. this Ep packs some much punch even though it clocks in under the nine minute mark.  Best Ep of the year?  Maybe so check it out yourself!

Viva Belgrado – Demo

Band – Viva Belgrado  (Bandcamp)
Release Title – Demo
Medium – Mp3
Label – Self Released
Style – Post Rock/Sometime Screamo
From - Córdoba, Spain

(Stream)

Info -

Viva Belgrado is a Post Rock plus band from Spain.  I say plus because like any awesome band they add in elements from other genres as well.  The first few tracks and pretty riffy with a few rad screamoish lines.  The last two tracks have a lot of spoken word in it, for a split second I thought I was listening to the beginning of Todos CAERÁN after dark Ep but in a different language.  I recommend this band for anyone who likes rad stuff.  I can even understand a few of the spanish words spoken.

Holiness Church of the Valley – Not of the Flock

Style – Post Hardcore/Sorrow/Screamo

This band, this band, I don’t even know where to start… The intro riff prepared me to expect some good but not unique Post-Hardcore.  Now I am super stoked on Post hardcore but everyone is doing it well and bland right now.  HCotV are not bland, they are simply fucking amazing.  They are a band that can blend genres and give us a sound that is refreshing and not mumbled.

These dudes from down south give us dirty, sickening, raw hardcore/post-hardcore.  I was hooked by the end of the first song, the only adequately way to describe this band is it makes me  want to destroy everything.  Don’t sleep on this band.  Listen!
