I slept on this release for some reason, Idk why, but now I am embarrassed because it is really amazing.  People told me I’d love Droughts and they were right.  Droughts give us some solid midwest hardcore/emo with plenty of places to sing along and get pumped.  William Bonney are simply put the best melodic/hardcore/emo band in the midwest.  Everything I love and nothing I hate.  They need

I listened to this split like ten times over before I went to work.  When I got to work I spent the whole day in combat over whose side would get stuck in my head the longest.  I believed that in the end the best side would win, unluckily for me both sides rule and this whole record was stuck in my head.  Screamo at its finest from both spectrums.

I am not sure what I can say about Suffix, I really really liked this band and it sucks that I only got to see them once.  I guess I could have driven up to Chicago alone and stood in a corner by my shy self and watched them but that just sounded too stressful.  Every song on this tape is amazing, I had lost it in the mess of my car for a few months but thankfully we are reunited.  I’m pretty sure I found out about this band on last.fm which is weird because I completly forgot about that site.

Anyways Stuffix is one of those bands that rides the line of full out screamo band and noodly emo band, I feel like they take the best from both worlds.

Lord snow is a relatively new band from Chicago featuring members of bands that you most likely already like a ton (Suffix, The New Yorker and Lautrec).  I was super stoked on everything Suffix and Lautrec did so I was excited when I first heard about this new band.  Turns out without any surprise that they are pretty fucking good.  They have a similar vocal style to Suffix but continually harder and louder.  They play a little slowed down emotional hardcore.  The main jam on this release is “It is Known” and has my favorite spoken then yelled vocal lines.

The recordings are a little rough but you can easily tell where the band is going with the songs, I am super excited to follow this band and hope that they keep it going because everyone knows that the Midwest especially Chicago and Indiana are lacking good emo jams.
